At Pekes, we are registered with the London Borough of Barnet (LBB) to receive education funding from the term after a child turns three years old until the child starts school (up to the term after they turn 5). LBB provides the funding for term time only (38 weeks of the school year as published by LBB), however, Peques will distribute this funding over the 50 weeks a year that the nursery is open.
As per Pekes Terms & Conditions, we do not offer term time-only places.
Pekes Early Years Funding Policy
This funding is not means tested and is available to all children of the relevant age attending the nursery for the required minimum sessions as stated in our Terms & Conditions.
This funding covers term time only for a maximum 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the school year as published by LBB; as opposed to the 50 weeks a year that the nursery remains open.
Universal Funding
(15 hour)
Extended funding is means-tested and offers a further 15 hours on top of the Universal Funding totalling 30 hours a week and is only available to children attending the setting whose parents successfully apply to the HMRC for the additional funding and receive an eligibility code.
This funding covers term time only for a maximum 30 hours a week for 38 weeks of the school year as published by LBB; as opposed to the 50 weeks a year that the nursery remains open.

Our Ethos
& Aims
Pekes Bilingual Nursery has a Christian ethos.
The ethos of the nursery has been shaped by the vision and values of the church community out of which it has grown.
As such, the nursery ethos is spiritual, communal, innovative, and outward-looking, encapsulated in our values of ‘faith,’ ‘family,’ and ‘future.’

1. Family
We want to build a family culture that is affirming, inclusive, and secure where each child feels like they belong. We do this by working closely with parents, teachers, nursery supporters, and the local church community.

2. Faith
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” As a Christian nursery, we seek to help each child discover their purpose and learn principles that they can build their life on so that they can lead a full and fulfilling life.

3. Future
We are forward-looking and forward-thinking. We want to prepare our children for the
fast-changing and challenging world they
are growing up in. We aim to provide an innovative and relevant education that will equip them to shape this dynamic new world.
